Getting to know you

1. what's your favorite rainy day activity?  Snuggling up on the couch and reading a good book or watching a movie, preferably with Mark.

2. what time do you go to bed?  I’m usually in bed by 11pm, but sometimes I don’t fall asleep until much later.

3. how many magazines do you subscribe to?  Probably 4-5.

4. did you sell all your belongings because you thought the world was ending yesterday?  Honestly the only reason I knew that was predicted to happen is because a bunch of my friends posted stuff about it on FB.

5. what's your beauty obssesion?  I don’t really have any beauty obsessions.  I’m perfectly fine leaving the house without make-up on.

6. if you could only wear one designer/brand for the rest of your life...what would it be?  Probably The Limited or Express.

7. what's your summer must have?  Sweet tea or pink lemonade, but I could drink those any time of year really.  They’re just extra good in the summer.

8. do you make weekly dinner menus?  I’m not currently, but I have in the past.  I would make them a month at a time.  I loved doing it and if I don’t do it, we tend to eat the same thing multiple times a month.

Getting to know you

1. have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself?  Nope, I haven’t.  Doesn’t sound like much fun to me.  I’ll watch movies at home if I’m going to see them by myself.

2. would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane?  Hurricane for sure.  You have more warning so you can get out!

3. have you made summer vacation plans?  Yep, we’re going to MO next week and CO at the end of July!

4. what's your favorite accessory?  I don’t really have a favorite accessory.  It would probably be something Mark gave me though.

5. have you ever been thrown a surprise party?  Yep, my 21st birthday party was a pretty big surprise.  I had no clue!

6. are you friends with your neighbors?  We’re friendly with our neighbors, but not exactly “friends”.

7. what's the last movie you saw in the theater?  I just saw Bridesmaids last night.  It was funny in parts and completely over the top in parts.

8 what's your favorite food network show?  Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!!!  I LOVE that show!

1. did you watch the royal wedding?  Only the reruns.  There’s no way I’d get up at 4am to watch TV that’s going to be replayed a zillion times.

2. tea and crumpets or coffee and a scone?  Sweet tea only and a scone.

3 who's cuter..prince william or prince harry?  Harry for SURE.

4. can you speak in a english accent?  No, but I love listening to it.

5. do you own a fancy hat?  Nope, I sure don’t.

6. would you rather live in a castle or an english cottage?  OOOO, tough question.  Both sound great, but I guess I’d go with a castle, with a cottage feel.

7. how old were you when prince charles and princess diana got married?  were you even born?  I was almost a year old.

8. have you found your prince? Most definitely!  He’s all I could have ever asked for plus 10x’s more.  (Miss you Mark!!)

1. what's something you've eaten and liked, but didn't think you would?  I never liked guacamole until I had some stuff my aunt made.  Since then I’ve loved it.

2. plastic surgery..yay or nay?  Ehhh…  in general, nay.  I think reconstructive surgery is fine, like getting a tummy tuck after being pregnant or something like that, but I think the Hollywood types that try to “fix” everything that isn’t wrong is kind of vain.

3. 2 things you love about spring are.....?  FLOWERS!!  And flowers.

4. when's the last time you went on a picnic?  Hmm..  It’s been a long time.  I don’t even remember the last time I went on a picnic.  Probably when we lived in FL and went to the beach and that was in 2006.

5. what's your favorite app?  I really like grocery IQ and I LOVE all the dash games – diner dash, hotel dash, cooking dash, wedding dash.

6. who does the grocery shopping in your house?  Well considering my husband is deployed right now, and when he is home he works 12-14 hours a day, I do.  Although now that I’m with my parents, my mom does a lot of it too.

7. would you rather take a spin class or zumba?  I honestly don’t even know what zumba is, but it sounds fun, so I’d like to try that.

8. how often do you go out to dinner?  Way too much.  I guess I eat out more for lunch than dinner though, just because it’s easier to meet friends in town since I live 25 mins away from most of them right now.

Getting to know you

So it’s Sunday again already??  This week has just flown by!  Now if the next 25+ weeks will fly by also, I’ll be very happy!  I am pretty much packed and ready to go with 2 suitcases in my friends car, 2 suitcases and the dogs cages and Abbie’s stroller case in my car, and my 3 carry-on’s in the kitchen.  My alarm is set for 5:30am.  Wish me luck!  I’ll consider it a success if I don’t ask for a parachute and an open door somewhere over the Atlantic.

the q's.

1. do you watch/read the news?  No.  In fact, we were recommended to not watch the news while our husbands are down range.  My source of news is Facebook.  If anything major happens, one of my friends will be sure to mention it.

2. how would you describe your "look"?  Casual.  If I had more time and money to devote to my look, I would like to venture towards “classic, elegant” but that would require a lot more money than I have to spend.

3. did you play sports in high school or college?  This is a sore subject with me.  No, I didn’t, but I would have LOVED to play volleyball or basketball.  However, I got to babysit my younger sister instead.

4. would you rather give up lipstick/gloss or high heels?  LOL!  Heels!  For sure.  I have ONE pair of heels that I wear for very short periods of time anyway.

5. what's your favorite show to watch on tv?  Parenthood.  I love that show.

6. would you rather bake or cook?  Cook, I think.  Although I love to do both, I really like to cook for my husband.

7. shorts or skirts?  Skirts that hit right above the knee.

8. what's your favorite scary movie?  I don’t really watch scary movies, so I’d have to say none.  In fact, I try to avoid scary movies.

Getting to know you

1. do you weigh yourself?  Yep, probably 3-4 times a week, just to make sure I haven’t gained any weight.  If I have, I cut back on the sweets.

2. what's the nastiest thing you've ever eaten?  A brussel sprout with a worm in it…  Ew.

3. snail mail or email?  In general, snail mail.  I love writing letters and taking them to the post office and I love receiving letters too.  But when I don’t have that kind of time, I email people.

4. do you have any irrational fears...what are they?  Odd that both quizzes I do on my blog have the same question one week!  But my answer is still the same – sharks.  Although I’m not sure being afraid of sharks is that irrational.  I guess just the part that I think they’re going to be near me in the water every time I get in the ocean is the irrational part!

5. do you play an instrument?  I’ve played the piano since I was 5.  I miss it.  Part of the reason I’m so excited to go home is that my baby grand is waiting for me at my parents house.  I’ve already shipped my music home.  And I played the flute for a while, and I’ve played the hand bells for years.

6. would you rather be bitten by a snake or attacked by a bear?  Uh…. neither?  But I guess I’d rather be bitten by a non-poisonous snack if I had to choose.

7. do you ever go braless in public?  Ha.  No.  I wish my boobs were small enough to get away with that, but there is no way in hell I’d be seen in public without a bra…

8. today i am thankful for........................?  A beautiful day in which we spent almost all of it outside playing in the yard and eating on the porch and a fantastic weekend spent with my husband.  It really was a perfect weekend.

1. what inspires you?  Mainly other people.  Other’s people determination, creativity, energy, faith, sacrifice, patriotism.

2. what was the last thing you bought yourself?  A travel pouch for my jewelry, but I have no clue if it’ll actually get here on time to use before I leave…

3. would you rather watch a movie in a theater or from the comfort of your own home?  In a theater, for sure.  Anything to get out of the house and go on a date!

4. household chore you don't mind doing?  Laundry.  I don’t mind doing the laundry or folding it.  (Except socks.  I hate folding sock.  And I hate putting it away.)

5. coffee or tea?  Neither really.  I like sweet tea, does that count?

6. what could you eat every day and not get sick of??  homemade chocolate chip cookies!

7. what's the last book you read?  “Twenties Girl” by Sophie Kinsella – it was pretty good!

8. do you think you look you "look" your age? I think I do, but most people tell me I look younger than I am.

1. if you won the title of miss america, what would your platform be?  It would most likely have something to do with abused or neglected children.
2. outdoorsy or indoorsy?  It really depends on the day.  I love spending time outdoors, but I’m perfectly content curling up on the couch with a good book too.  Some days I like to just be inside working on quilting or crafts or whatever and other days I have a need to get out and get fresh air.
3. pajama's out in public..classy or tres tacky?  If they’re full on pajama’s, that’s tacky.  But if it’s just comfortable lounge clothes, I think that’s fine.
4. what's your favorite room in your house?  Our bedroom.  I love coming up here after Abbie is asleep and reading or painting my nails or writing letters or blogs and watching TV.
5. nook, kindle, or book?  Just a book.  I love turning pages.  I love going to libraries to see what there is to read.  I’m not sure I’ll ever get in to the electronic side of reading, unless it’s blogs. 
6. would you rather wear the same outfit for a week or not brush your teeth for a week?  Wear the same outfit for sure.  I hate it when my teeth feel gritty.  It’s gross.
7. what's your favorite blog at the moment?  I don’t really have a favorite.  Quite a few of my friends blog, and I love keeping up with what’s going on in their lives.  I like meeting and learning about other military spouses.  I follow a few photography blogs that are fun to look at.  I like them all.
8. lately i've been daydreaming about.........?  Going home, and everything I want to do while I’m home and everyone I want to spend time with.
