Abbie’s 6th birthday

Even in the midst of our move and having a newborn, we had a birthday party for Abbie which was also kind of a going away party too, I suppose.  I hired a “Belle” to come and she read “Beauty and the Beast” and sang songs and danced with the kids and did face painting.  Overall, it was a great success and Abbie was so surprised!  She had no clue Belle was coming!

Most of her good friends from AZ were there.  Our awesome next door neighbors came – Lila and Griffin, Sophie and Jensen were there.  Charlee came and so did Paycie.  Katelyn and Levi were there and Aksel and Xander and Jaemison also stopped by for a little bit.

We miss our AZ friends so much!!

My friend Gail also came and held the baby a bunch for me!  We miss all of our friends there so much!

Picking up Emily

We picked Emily up from the airport the first weekend in August.  I can honestly say I really wasn’t nervous about it at all.  Excited and anxious, yes, but I wasn’t nervous.

Abbie was a little bit shy at first, but she did walk right up to Emily and give her the sign she made for her.  Ben ran around like a lunatic, as usual.

Emily only brought one little suitcase and one big one with her to live here for almost a year.  As someone who packs one large suitcase per person for a weeks vacation, I was rather impressed.

And this is what happens when you hand your dSLR to someone else, all set up and ready to go, and ask them to take your picture….  Ugh.  Our first shot with all 5 of us, just a TAD bit blurry.  Oh well.  Hopefully the hundreds following this one will be better.  =)
