January 2012 Abbie-isms

Sorry there aren’t any pictures this month, and there aren’t many Abbie-isms either.  She says tons of hilarious stuff, but I don’t have time to write them down and then I forget them.  But these are the ones I did manage to remember.  Enjoy!

**We saw jets flying around on our way home from base today.  Abbie told me that jets “have pointy things like sharks”.  (I’m assuming she was saying the vertical stabilizer on the jet looks like a shark fin, which was kind of impressive to me.)  Then she told me that “sharks have very sharp teeth and sharp eyebrows”.  (That wasn’t as impressive, but it was pretty funny.)

**Abbie has a habit of standing RIGHT in front of the TV while she watches her shows.  She was bugging me to watch one of her shows and I said, “No, I don’t want you in front of the TV all day Abbie.”  to which she replied, “Well I’ll sit back on the couch then.”

**While Mark’s brother was visiting, the five of us took a trip in the car, so Mark sat in the back between the two carseats.  On the way home, Mark was getting in and Abbie said, “Your frickin butt is too big to fit back here.”  LOL!

**Abbie loves to talk to Mark when he calls me when he’s on his way home.  Today I handed her the phone and she said, “How was your flight daddy?”.

**The guards at the gates on base always salute Mark after they check his ID.  (That’s just typical protocol.)  Abbie has started noticing that they salute him.  So after we go through the gate, she’ll ask, whether it’s me or Mark driving, “Did they just do this?”, while imitating a salute.  She also asks why they do that, which is a little harder to explain to a 2.5 year old.

**Abbie often says things like “I really like our Benj.  He’s a good Benj, isn’t he?”

**We have issues with Abbie going to bed at night.  We tuck her in and then she’ll call us back in 5+ times for different reasons (and if we ignore her she COMPLETELY freaks out).  Anyway, last night I went down for the 4th time since we’d put her in bed.  She said, “Mommy, I have to tell you sump-in.”  I asked her what she had to tell me and she said, “There’s a ka-ren-too-la outside my window.”  (She was watching Max and Ruby and they read a book about a tarantula that Max was afraid of being out his window.  That’s the last time she’s watching that episode!

This is such a good idea. I may just consider doing this. LOL. It really cracks me up what the littles say all the time. Thanks for sharing :) I'm a new follower from the Friday Fill-in. :)
