The Lipizzaners

Mark and I went to see the Lipizzaner Stallions in OKC on Sunday. My mom took me to see them when I was younger, since I've always been a horse lover, and I wanted Mark to have the experience too. They are beautiful animals and we enjoyed the show.

Only 7 more days and he can shave that damn thing off....

They train the Lipizzaners in Vienna, Austria

This one they rescued from somewhere in the US. He was starving when they rescued him, but now he's one of their top performers.
They used the stallions in battle.
They used this manuever to break through enemy lines.

One of the reasons the show is called "Airs Above Grounds"

Hard to tell in this picture, but he's
completely in the air.

More war manuevers. All Lipizzaners in the world stem from 6 bloodlines.

This is an Andalusian - close relative
of the Lipizzaner.

Final routine.

We had really good seats. This photo wasn't
zoomed at all.

I couldn't take my good camera, which is why the pictures didn't turn out the best. They said no professional cameras, and I didn't want to risk not being able to take pictures, even though I'm not sure our SLR would be considered a professional camera. Either way, we had a good time.

I think I saw those horses with my dad in middle school. I have a ton of pictures of them but didn't know their name! Did you see them at five flags too?

And, um, Mark's mustache, um, scares me. LOL
