Gorgazzo (take 2)

 IMG_6511

Mark’s older brother, Ryan, is visiting us for a week, so we wanted to show him around our local area.  We took him to Gorgazzo first, because we were fascinated with it the first time we saw it. IMG_6517

The water at this natural spring is SO clear, and VERY rich in nutrients, hence all the algae growing.

This was the bluest we’ve ever seen the spring.  There is something in this water that makes it appear VERY blue when it’s deep.

The guard goose.

Isn’t it beautiful?  I’ve just never seen anything like it.

There was a guy there with his family when we were there and he said that they’ve gone over 600 feet into this spring under the mountain and the source of the spring is even further under the mountain.  They can’t get all the way to the source.  And I guess 11 people have died trying to get to the source of the spring.

Another family portrait.

Abbie and uncle Ryan.

There is another little spring right next to the big one.  You can kind of see the water coming out of the rocks in the top center of this picture.  Little bubbles come up all over the place too.  It’s really neat.

Mark wanted to see what Abbie did when he put her feet in the water.  She wasn’t really a big fan.  The water is COLD!

And he wanted to try it again in the main stream.  She screamed….

I was playing with my camera and liked this picture.

Isn’t this the cutest picture ever??  Everyone asks me how I get such good pictures of her.  I don’t know.  I just take them and most of them are really cute.  She’s a pretty photogenic little thing.

Sounds like you guys had a good time. Hopefully we can go when we come over, the water maybe froze then. Love the last picture of Abbie she is very photogenic.
