Friday fill-in

I can’t believe it’s already Friday again!  Mark’s mom will be here in a week and a half!  That’s crazy!  Here are this weeks questions.

  • What characteristic about yourself has either been strengthened or weakened due to your experience as a Military Spouse?

I would say that I’m slowly getting better at going with the flow.  I’m a planner and list maker at heart and sometimes you just can’t plan ahead very much.  Well you can, but more than likely you’d better have a plan b,c, and d and usually e in place also just in case and you have to be ready to change gears and course at the drop of a hat, literally.  I’m getting better at taking things as they come, but I still have much room for improvement in that department also.

  • What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Hm…  This is tough.  We’ve been to lots of places and I like all of them for different reasons.  I LOVE visiting Washington DC in the States, but I’ve never been there with Abbie and Mark.  I love Disney World and the last time Mark and I were there all we talked about was how fun it would be to take our kids there, so I know we’re both excited about taking Abbie there someday.  She’ll love it.  Some of the cities I’ve been to in Europe have been amazing, all for different reasons and in different ways.  I don’t know if I have a favorite.  I can usually find something I like about every place we visit.

  • If you could have any fast-food restaurant in the food court on base/post what would you pick?

Oh boy….  I could go nuts on this question.  We only have Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, Popeye’s and Anthony’s Pizza here.  I eat at Burger King the most and I’m sick of it.  If I could pick any, it would be a toss up between Chik-fil-a and Potbelly Subs… And Coldstone Creamery…  YUM!

  • Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We went to Vegas and the Grand Canyon.  I wish I could say we went somewhere cool and not so cliche but oh well.  We wanted to go to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, but airfare up there was outrageous so we didn’t go.  We had fun in Vegas though and saw two Cirque du Soleil shows and went on a plane tour of the Grand Canyon which was neat.

  • If you could have any job in the world regardless of money, degree or experience, which job would you have and why?

I would love to be some sort of counselor.  Marriage, guidance, something along those lines and help people work through their problems.  Maybe someday I’ll go back to school for that.  Or I would love to own my own horse barn and take care of my, and other people’s horses.  Give lessons, do physical work again.  I miss that.
